TheMenEvent.com has been hosting gay networking events for 4 years and
their parties tend to draw anywhere from 250-400 gay professionals from the Metro NYC area. Held in a venue somewhere
within Times Square, the parties bring out those who want to network for their job, meet new friends, see old friends
or if one is in the mood, flirt with a professional type (nametags are color coded so you know who is single).
Since January is "Back to Being Physically Fit" month, TheMenEvent.com is bringing back one of their favorite parties Ð
GAY SPORTS NIGHT (the last one was held at Planet Hollywood).
Your team is being offered a table at this networking party, You can use this opportunity to recruit new members, gain
support from sponsors, network with other gay sports minded GLBTers or just plain meet some new people.
You should invite your entire team to attend the event, to man the booth, and recruit new members. There is no cover,
and there will be lots of cocktail specials. The regular price of drinks is actually pretty cheap by NYC standards.
Food is also available.
As a way of growing your own "List," you might want to also offer some sort of sweepstakes (drop a biz card to enter
to win a team jersey, dinner for 2 and a date with the captain, etc).
All teams who participate will have their team promoted via the event website, and via the e-newsletters that will
go out from theMenevent.com (holding one of the largest gay email lists in the city) as well as Next Magazine.
Participating teams will need to arrive between 5 and 530 to set up their table. The event runs from 6pm-9pm.
