SANTA CLAUS IS COMING OUT, a theatrical mock-u-mentary, is about the worldwide scandal surrounding the outing of Santa Claus.  Writer-performer Jeffrey Solomon traces the intensely personal struggle of the great holiday icon, as he tries to reconcile his love relationship with Italian toy maker Giovanni Geppetto with his passion for giving to the world's children.  Solomon plays more than a dozen iconic characters in this 80-minute revelation.  Among them are Sidney Green, the “little Jew who saved Christmas;” nine year-old Gary, who asks Santa for a Sparkle Dream Princess doll; Mary Ellen, who evokes a 21st century Anita Bryant; Rudolph, elves, and many others.

  GAY GAMES 2010 UPDATE

How's this for a list of 2010 New Years Resolutions?

1.     Save Money.
2.     Meet New People.
3.     Get Healthier.
4.     Travel to Europe.
5.     Support LGBT Civil Rights.

Gay Games VIII in Cologne Germany might not be until July & August of next year, but once the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Eve 2009, registrants of the games can expect a 25 Euros hike in the price of the base registration cost (37 USD, 39 CAD, 40 AUD). As the year winds down, now is the time to register for the 2010 Gay Games and begin planning for the experience of a lifetime next year.

Save Money
Though the economy seems to be turning around, the recession could still play a role in your decision to come to Cologne next year, so Register Now, take advantage of the soon-to-expire "early bird" price and save some money.  Registering early also lets the nonprofit Cologne organizing committee plan for next year, a real help to a hard-working group of people.

Visit www.games-cologne.com to register. Questions? Click on "contact" on that website and Cologne's organizers will get back to you very soon. Registration fees include a ticket to Opening & Closing Ceremony, a week-long transit pass, sport & cultural event costs, a participation medal, welcome kit, and access to other special events. Visit www.games-cologne.com for housing, including hosted housing, and travel information.

Meet New People
The Gay Games VIII will take place in Cologne, Germany from 31 July to 7 August 2010. With 34 sports and 5 cultural events, the Cologne Gay Games will welcome up to 12,000 participants, with nearly 3,000 having already registered to attend as of this week. The Games will begin with an exciting Opening Ceremony at RheinEnergieStadion, the city's football (soccer) stadium, where up to 48,000 people are expected. Entertainment has not yet been announced but past Gay Games performers have included Tina Turner, Cyndi Lauper, Kylie Minogue, Patti Labelle, Erasure's Andy Bell and Heather Small.

Get Healthier
Cologne 2010 features most of the sports you've come to expect at a Gay Games, and few new ones, including: Badminton, Basketball, Beach-Volleyball, Bodybuilding, Bowling, Bridge (new!), Chess, Cycling, DanceSport, Diving, Field Hockey, Figure Skating, Golf, Handball, Ice Hockey, Inline Speed Skating, Marathon, Martial Arts, Pool-Billiards, Powerlifting, 5K/10K Road Races, Sailing, Soccer (Football), Softball, Sport Climbing, Sport Shooting, Squash, Swimming, Synchronized Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track and Field, Triathlon, Volleyball, Water Polo, and Wrestling. Artists can register to participate in Band, Chorus, Cheerleading, Rainbow Memorial Run or Visual Arts as part of the cultural festival.

Travel to Europe
The bonus? The beautiful City of Cologne is one of the most LGBT friendly in the whole world. The whole city is eager to host our community and its allies for the 2010 Gay Games. We all come together like this only once every four years and the Cologners are very proud to be the host of the 8th Gay Games.

So act quickly and ensure that your New Year begins on a positive note and save some money before midnight on December 31st. To register visit: www.games-cologne.com.
