SAVE THE DATE: OOB's GOT TALENT
A Fundraiser for the Hetrick-Martin Institute
September 17, 2009 • Stonewall Inn
Dear League Officials, Board Members & Players!
We are writing to you and your sports group to ask you to attend a very special evening. The first annual Out of Bounds Got Talent show will take place on Thursday, September 17th at the Stonewall Inn (53 Christopher Street). We are having this event to benefit The Hetrick-Martin Institute, Home of the Harvey Milk High School. Those of you not familiar with The Hetrick-Martin Institute and the positive work the organization does for our community please go to www.hmi.org. It is The Hetrick-Martin Institute’s 30th Anniversary and we are raising funds and awareness for a valid and incredibly influential organization within out community.
This letter is primarily to the officials of each sports group as we could use your help. We need a total 10 “acts” for this talent competition, and we are asking as many sports groups as possible to send us their talented guys & gals. Acts could range from lip sync’ing to real singing, dancing to juggling, stand-up comedy to poetry reading -- anything else that could impress the audience. (No nudity, please). Please have your interested athletes contact us at talent@oobnyc.org as soon as possible.
We would also like to ask for your help in promoting the event to your teammates, members & friends. Please include this event, date, Thursday, September 17th, and time, 9pm in your group emails. We will send more details out very soon, along with some graphics for you to email out. This is a fun event for a serious cause. There will be celebrity judges, silent auction, and a 2nd runner-up, 1st runner-up, and Winner.
Please consider this as an important event and give us your time, even though we will all have an enjoyable time the purpose of this night is extremely important. The services provided by The Hetrick-Martin Institute for the youth of our population are immeasurable. We are offering the chance to come together, show support, have fun, network, and simply give back to those in our community that work hard to bring a positive influence to all of us.
All funds raised will go to the Hetrick-Martin Institute & the Harvey Milk High School.
Thank you, and please be in touch soon,
Jeff Kagan
