Out of Bounds and Team New York need you!

The Team New York Committee of Out of Bounds NYC is busy preparing the Team New York uniforms for this year's Gay Games in Cologne. We want to be sure that all the New York athletes are looking their very best when they march into the stadium for the opening ceremony.

Here's how you can help.

In order to keep the cost of the uniforms (Team New York polo, hat, and trading pins) as inexpensive as possible (we'll be selling them for only $10 per person), we'd like to raise money to offset our expenses. To do that, we're selling a limited edition Team New York 2010 Gay Games t-shirt.

But first, we need one of you creative types to help us design this t-shirt, so we are having a design contest. The winning t-shirt designer will receive a $100 grant for his/her sports team (or a team of his/her choice).

The design should stick with Team New York's colors of blue and white (see our logo above). Other than that, be creative... be smart... be classy! Final design must mention Team New York and the 2010 Gay Games in Cologne.

All designs must be submitted by Friday, May 14th at 5pm. The winner will be chosen the following week. Designers: please submit all art in 300dpi Photoshop files.

FRONTRUNNERS NEW YORK UPCOMING EVENTS

June 26th -- 9 AM in Central Park: FRNY's Lesbian and Gay Pride Run. This fun five-mile run takes place in Central Park and features amazing pre and post-race entertainment in one of the most inclusive and festive atmospheres. Prize money to the top finishers and many raffle prizes await lucky participants. All proceeds go to SAGE. See you out there!

Every Sat at 10 AM -- FRNY fun run in Central Park. We welcome runners of all ages, paces and types. We have newcomers every week in this accepting and welcoming atmosphere. Meet us in the park and come for coffee and bagels after. Details at www.frny.org

Speaking About Silence – Homophobia in the Sports World

A few days from the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Fondation Émergence is launching its annual campaign to fight against homophobia. Entitled Speaking About Silence, this campaign is geared toward the sports world and will reach its highpoint on May 17, 2010, on the International Day Against Homophobia.

The campaign aims to speak about the sports world’s reigning silence on everything related to sexual diversity, and to call on all those involved: educational institutions, the media, professional and amateur sports organisations, sponsors, gay men and lesbians, sexual minorities, and public authorities.

Two posters and one pamphlet are being offered both in English and in French

Join Metropolitan Tennis Group (MTG) for “Love, Love” Membership Night on Saturday, May 22nd at 7:00pm. MTG welcomes new and current members to participate in this special membership appreciation night with round-robin formatted party. New and current members will contend against one another for a fun evening of tennis and solidarity.

NEW members who sign up for this doubles party and who join MTG ($25.00 membership dues) will receive FREE entry into 2010 Summer Ladder (Summer competition wherein wins and losses against other members dictates position on the ladder)!
